Ask Away Friday with Michelle from The MaMade Diaries

The Real Housewife of Caroline County

This week I got asked to participate in Ask Away Friday! Of course, I said yes since I was swapping questions with a fellow September 2011 Mommy and I thought it would be fun getting to know each other a little better. :)

Don't forget to stop over and check out The MaMade Diaries to see the questions I asked her!

My Questions from Michelle!

How did you meet your husband?
We met through our friends who were dating at the time. They asked us to go to the bar for a few drinks with them, and we ended up exchanging numbers and talking.

What is your favorite childhood memory? (This is one of my favorite questions)
My favorite childhood memory is.. all the memories I have with my Grammy and Pappy! They passed away when I was younger.. I miss them so much!

You're stranded on an island, what 3 things (besides family and friends) do you want a lifetime supply of?
I assume water would be a given since it's an island.. so my 3 choices would be.. Coffee, clean clothes ;) , and toothpaste ( gotta have a clean mouth )

What is your least favorite thing about blogging?
When something I want to post on my blog or change doesn't cooperate :P

Do you have any family traditions, whether from your childhood or new ones your starting with Grant?
We always baked Christmas cookies on Christmas eve.. So I still plan on doing that with Grant and maybe coming up with our own tradition. :)

What are 2 of your biggest fears?
SPIDERS and car accidents ):

I know that you love to do crafts and activities with Grant, what is your favorite one that you've done so far?
My favorite craft that we have done I would have to say is the Fall Q-tip tree! I know he had a blast and I enjoyed watching him do it and saying "dot, dot, dot" while painting the leaves.

How do you handle living away from your family and only getting to visit them once a month?
It's hard, but I usually call/text my Mom a few times a week. My littlest sister has an iPod so I can FaceTime her if I want. Then my other sister I usually text/call her a few times a week too. :) I don't know how I would last not seeing them once a month..

Did you experience anything during pregnancy that "no one told you about" and you just weren't expecting?
YES! LOTS of things.. Grant's heart rate dropping quite a few times.. and some of the parts of right after birth.. but now I know for next time ;)

I know that you are utterly obsessed with pumpkin everything, what is your absolute favorite pumpkin item?
Hmm.. this is a VERY tough question.. but if I had to pick one thing it would be.. My pumpkin spice cappuccino from Circle K.. YUM!

3 Ingredient Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Cookies recipe

If you are like me and LOVE anything pumpkin flavored, then this recipe is for you! It's SO easy and only take 3 ingrendients.

Here's what you will need:
- 1 box of spice cake mix
- 1 15 oz can pumpkin
- bag of chocolate chips ( you could use milk chocolate chips or semi sweet )

Here is a picture of everything I used.

Preheat oven to 350. Combine the Spice Cake mix and pumpkin together in a medium/large sized bowl. Make sure it's mixed well! Then add your chocolate chips.. I just dumped some in until I thought it was enough.

Start putting your cookies on a well greased cookie sheet.

Then, I baked them in the oven for 15 minutes.. Remember cooking times may vary!

These cookies were DELICIOUS.. very soft and moist! Hope you enjoy them as much as I did.

Nuby Fork and Spoon Travel Set Review

***Disclosure: I am a Nuby Mommy Blogger. I receive Nuby products in exchange for my reviews! Opinions are all my own.***

Do you travel with your little ones often? Do you like to eat out? Even if you don't do either of those, this is great product for you! The Nuby Fork and Spoon Travel Set comes with a handy travel case to keep your diaper bag or purse clean tidy and hygienic while out and about.

My son is just starting to get the hang of using a fork and spoon so I was happy to give this product a try. It fits perfectly in my purse and doesn't take up much space at all. I absolutely love the handy case because it keeps the forks and spoons clean and they aren't going all through my purse.

Perfect, size to fit easily in your purse, diaper bag, or backpack!

Fork and Spoon is perfect for little hands!

My Final Thoughts
The Nuby Fork and Spoon Travel Set is perfect for families who are out and about often. Even if you don't travel often I think it's a great product! The forks and spoons are perfect for little hands and very durable.

Nuby Tear Free Rinse Pail Review

***Disclosure: I am a Nuby Mommy Blogger. I receive Nuby products in exchange for my reviews! Opinions are all my own.***

When I got the opportunity to test and review the Nuby Tear Free Rinse Pail I was excited because my son hates having water dumped on his head and it going in his eyes when we wash his hair..

The Nuby Tear Free Rinse Pail is awesome! Sometimes there is still water that goes in his eyes but not as much as when we used a normal cup. My son also loves playing with the pail.. Scooping up some water then dumping it out.

We love this product!

The green part is rubber so it won't hurt your child's head when using it.

Picture of the inside.

The pail has a great handle that makes it very easy to use.
My Final Thoughts
The Nuby Tear Free Rinse Pail works well I think! My son doesn't sit still very long, so it doesn't completely keep water out of his eyes, but it does a WAY better job than a normal cup.. He doesn't cry when we wash his hair anymore!

Pittsburgh's Giant Duck

On September 27, 2013 a giant rubber duck made it's way into downtown Pittsburgh to hang out for a few weeks on the Allegheny River..That's right, a Giant Rubber Duck!! :) If I remember correctly I read somewhere that it is four stories high! So cute and it's something for the whole family to enjoy.

We finally had the chance to go downtown to check it out this afternoon, and we were not disappointed! My son LOVED it.. As soon as he saw it he started pointing and saying duck. Then, of course, when it was time to leave he started crying.

My Son and I posing for a picture with the Giant Rubber Duck!

So cute!
Do you live in or near Pittsburgh and want to check out the Giant Rubber Duck? Well, you can! The duck will be docked at Point State Park until October 20th. :) Go check it out!
